Reviewfred rogers is one of the few people in public life who appears to be the genuine article. wysiwyg. he’s corny and all that, but he’s authentic and that goes a long way. the angle of it being about the author who writes about mr. rogers is novel and allows for you to approach him through that jaded lens. as a result it never becomes a hagiography. they are foils for each other and rogers is a foil for the author’s dad as well. he’s a foil for all of us in a way because he’s practically perfect in every way (to borrow a phrase). zoe cried.
