kind of a cross between shakespeare and douglas sirk. everything looks good on the surface and then, as you get closer, all these frailties and cracks start to show. everyone is well-cast and it’s a nicely written show. i sorta expected it to be a one and done, but it looks like there will be another season at least. netflix is doing some good things.
