not payne’s best film, but a nice enough road trip film with some laughs. it’s less comedy from him than i’m used to and more a meditation on aging and community. definitely has some poignant moments, but overall wasn’t at the same level as sideways or election. wasn’t sure why it was in black and white other than the fact that it looked good.
