Reviewlate 1964 concert film with the talents of seemingly everyone who was popular at the time (minus the beatles). stones, beach boys, supremes, marvin gaye, jan and dean, chuck berry, james brown, and others. good for a variety of reasons. first, the music is great. short bursts of energy instead of one long set from a single group. no single artist plays more than 4 songs (or thereabouts) so you never get bored. it’s also cool to see all the teenagers going crazy. it reinforces the idea that teenagers are probably the same regardless of generation (namely insane bundles of hormones). james brown’s dancing stood out as a highlight.
