Reviewfairly balanced look at the energy situation in the u.s. every president talks about addressing our dependence on other countries for oil and energy, every president has failed to do something about it. obama has been the most successful, though i think he benefited from the fracking boom more than anything else. if we can solve the energy problem then a lot of other things start to fall into place. desalinization becomes realistic, we can get out of the middle east, the environment is less of an issue, etc. the sierra club president actually seemed pretty reasonable about making compromises on energy policy and described his ambitions as simply wanting big oil to think about energy from a 21st century point of view instead of being stuck with the old model.
