adrian lyne’s strength is deviant erotica and it’s more of the same here. it’s a pretty standard plot – bored housewife cheats on her husband with a younger french guy, husband finds out and kills the guy. it’s jerry springer, but told from a different income tax bracket which makes it compelling to watch, i guess. really, other than diane lane’s hotness, there isn’t much keeping this movie afloat. i was mildly  interested in the plot and it’s a film that looks good enough, but there’s really very little character development, even the most simple, cliché kind.
