Review

sci-fi film that is almost sullivan’s travels-esque in its conclusion. the final note is a bit more happy than one may like (too hollywood), but i was fine with it. it’s a high concept film that thrills and gets you thinking. i’m not sure the logic of it works out, but things always get pretty muddy when you deal with potential time travel and parallel universes and the like. gyllenhaal is well-cast here. both vera farmiga (a favorite of mine) and  michelle monaghan are also good in limited but important roles.
