My Week With Marilyn
Year: 2011
Grade: C
Country: UK
Director: Curtis
Reviewstarts out well enough and michelle williams does a decent job of capturing some of the mannerisms of monroe, but doesn’t totally sell it in the end. i’m not a huge fan of monroe, but she does have something that set her apart on film. that said, it would appear that she was a bear to work with, and she was far from a genius as an actress so i have to conclude that she was more trouble than she was worth. honestly, whether it’s steve jobs or marilyn monroe, i’m pretty much over the idea that so-called genius gets a pass in our society. you need to work well with others regardless of your ability as a supposed innovator or actress or football player for that matter.
