Reviewlong film that was reminiscent of gettysburg and toro, toro, toro. it’s essentially a blow by blow account of the d-day invasion told from the british, american and german points of view. oddly, i found myself more interested in the scenes following the generals than the foot soldiers. most of the foot soldiers scenes were pretty average war flick fare. there was actually too much comic relief for my liking. it seemed to lighten the film too much given the subject matter. some comic relief in a war film is fine, but this one had a little too much for me.
