old guys recalling their glory days as usa little leaguers when they beat the heavily favored taiwanese team. i guess it was a great triumph because of how good taiwan had been the previous 11 years (won 9 championships, was banned for one, and lost one), but it’s taiwan. they’re a little island country so i have trouble making this into the little league equivalent of the miracle on ice. not all that great overall, but a nice part of sports history anyway.
