Reviewit’s a film about young love, but it works. as older people we roll our eyes and judge their stupid choices, but we should never forget what it’s like to be young. i’m reminded of it everyday i go to work on the cal campus and see people who are struggling with the things that we all struggle with at that age. we’re never fully formed humans, and we’re certainly not there at age 20. the film captures this age well and the sort of relationships that come as a result. it’s not rational, it may not last forever, it may be messy, but that’s why the film is titled “like crazy.” both leads did a good job and the writing and editing are noteworthy. the editing, in particular, was effective in the way that it portrayed the passage of time with bridging sound and time lapse photography among other techniques. solid flick.
