Reviewpredictable and unimpressive rom-com. i like heigl, but she tends to waste her talent on tv sitcoms and films with little content or poor execution. duhamel is barely good enough and the only supporting actor of note is melissa mccarthy who was also really good in bridesmaids. this is the kind of film that is all conceit and nothing else. it works well in the 2 minutes that the producer gives you to pitch your film idea while you’re walking with him to his next meeting. unfortunately that’s all it is – a nice setup with little after that. of course it gets hackneyed because it can’t do much else other than to rely on the usual formula. then again, you’re probably not expecting much if you’re watching this film so you’re not going to be disappointed either.
