good horror flick on the whole, though it fades a bit towards the end. james wan directed the first saw film, which was really good and helped define the torture porn subgenre. this one is much more in line with paranormal activity, though it doesn’t have the same realism – this knows it’s a movie. it’s a scary flick with effective scares throughout. the last 20-30 minutes are slower and have some comic relief, which i had mixed feelings about. good atmosphere, acting was on spot, scary.
