Reviewapocalypse film that takes place in moscow. part of it felt like a commercial for russia (“hey we’re clean and safe now, come visit. p.s. we have lots of hot young chicks and fun clubs to visit.”) which would explain the russian producers, or vise versa. the production values here were poor – bad writing, bad effects, bad acting. they somehow attached a few b-level stars in emile hirsch, max minghella, and olivia thirlby. there was a decent amount of on location shooting which made the ending (done on green screen) all the more obnoxious and quizzical. all that said, it’s an apocalypse film so it was fun enough for that reason alone.
