Reviewahead of its time visually and quite moving from a socially conscious point of view. it’s about a hungarian who comes through ellis island but is rejected. he jumps ship and looks for an american soldier, whose life he saved, in order to get a witness to vouch for his having fought for the allied forces (which would make him eligible for citizenship). it’s a great story with a solid performance from the lead. a gem that you probably haven’t heard of, but is as relevant today as ever.
