Director: Tillman Jr.
Reviewtillman’s best film to date probably because emotional honesty isn’t required here. it’s an homage to the 70s revenge/chase films, not a drama or biopic like men of honor or notorious. ironically, there’s more emotional honesty in this film than in those films. sometimes emotion can work better when it’s not the central force driving the film; when it’s the center of the film it takes a good director to pull it off without coming off as contrived. the action sequences could have used some better direction, but it was solid otherwise.
good story, good balance of throwback, comedy, action, etc. dragged a little bit towards the end, but it was forgivable.
