Reviewnot sure why it took me long to find this gem. release the same year as dr. strangelove it’s basically the same film, but a serious version. to be honest i liked this more than dr. strangelove after one viewing. of course strangelove has held up well to repeated viewings and i’ve yet to see if this does that.
henry fonda is perfectly cast as the president who has to deal with an accidental nuclear attack on the ussr. it’s more believable than strangelove and probably changed more minds about the nuclear standoff that our two countries had for so long. gotta love cold war films.
