Reviewit’s about an iraq war contractor who is buried alive and has a cell phone that he uses to try to get out of his situation before he runs out of oxygen. pretty basic concept that is an interesting challenge for a filmmaker/writer. considering the constraints of the film i think they did a pretty good job with the tension and keeping things interesting enough.
part of the reason i wasn’t really into it is because there were stupid things that reynolds’ character did or didn’t do to get himself as much time/help as possible. near the end when the coffin started collapsing it seemed like a good opportunity to break free, but he didn’t even try it.
at any rate, it’s a decent film given the constraints, but i thought cellular was a better trapped-with-only-a-cell-phone movie.
