pretty good, trippy flick that sees cage doing his usual thing, though it fits here better. i think he should take roles where he’s on drugs most of the time because that fits his style much better than some of the comic book type stuff he’s taken recently. still think raising arizona is his best effort, though many would say it’s leaving las vegas. herzog does some weird things here that i honestly don’t understand, but at its core this is a good film about pain and addiction. we’re not sure how long cage has been an addict, though the film sets us up to believe that he does drugs as a coping mechanism for his pain.
