Reviewthe book is a pretty lean little story so i didn’t really see a movie coming out of it, but i watched this anyway. they did a lot of filling in the blanks and took a lot of creative license in constructing a story and max as a character. the book never really stood out to me as great, though the simple idea of a boy and his imagination is a solid one for the age group. the film doesn’t expand upon that simple premise much, though it did seem to portray the wild things as different parts of max’s psyche which was interesting. some of the dialogue was funny and it was a creative film on the whole, but the storytelling could have used some work. the pacing was slow and i just wasn’t very involved in the film.
