don’t remember the remake at all quite frankly, but don’t think i’ll forget this one. i had tried to watch it several years ago, but the vhs tape broke or something so we only got to watch the first 20 minutes or so. it’s one of the great filmed parables because it works on a lot of different levels. the vegetarian slant, the humanity-is-doomed-to-self-destruct slant, the racism slant, and more. heston is over the top, but i think it works here. this is a solid film.
