wyler makes good films. there seems to be a lot of southern dramas that were released in the 40s-60s and this is one of the better ones. it’s just such a twisted and sadistic story of incest and selfishness and backstabbing. great drama with great writing and acting (bette davis is a clear stand out of course). great stuff.
