Reviewremade later as kaaterskill falls, which is actually the version i saw first. this one is better. it may actually be polanski’s most engaging film, right up there with chinatown anyway. it’s about a couple that goes for a boat ride and picks up a hitchhiker. the dynamic is interesting between the threesome, though i actually remember it being more tenuous in the remake than in this one. here it doesn’t seem quite as edgy. that said, the story unfolds slowly, but there’s always an underlying tension between the two men which makes things interesting.
