didn’t plan on watching this, but turned on the tv last night and it was on so i started watching it. ended up watching about an hour, went to bed, and watched the rest in the morning on dvd. great film. as good a film as there is when it comes to depicting the mafia culture. loved the insight of the wife (an oft left out aspect of the genre) as well as the freeze frame on the formative moments of hill’s life. his descent is beautifully captured as well. a classic.
