not at all worth the hype. it’s a good film with many of the same class/race themes seen in films like stand and deliver, dangerous minds and freedom writers and is interesting in this way. ultimately, though, it falls flat because the story arc just sort of dies. there are better films like this which makes me wonder why it was so well received.
