capra rises another notch in my book. this one is sort of a prelude to “it’s a wonderful life,” but in a more theatrical form and more wacky plot. the original characters and busy mise-en-scene make for a fun and fairly quick film given the 2+ hour runtime. in the end, hope and friendship prevail. capra is actually underrated.
