very solid film all around with a good cast and excellent writing. it also happens to be a more introspective film than you see in the romantic comedy genre. i’m not talking about the faux epiphanies you see in films like “what happens in vegas,” where the protagonists suddenly realize they’re assholes who are meant for each other. no, in the philadelphia story hepburn realizes that she’s put up certain boundaries to make loving her impossible. through an unlikely series of events over a few days she opens herself up to cary grant and all is well. good film..
