Reviewthis is the kind of film that beats into your mind one steadfast truth about war: it’s horrible. it’s a simple idea, but we spend a lot of time with smart bombs and geneva conventions, etc. to give the illusion that war can be sanitary or executed in a moral way. this is bullshit and this documentary shows the truth of war. not all wars are marred by the same degree of viciousness that the japanese exhibited in the nanking massacre, but all wars have these same trademarks to one degree or another. occasionally slow, but important and heavy.
