not sure why i saw this one. it’s got one good song and yul brenner’s performance is noteworthy. the lead woman (kerr) won an academy for her performance. i thought it to be fairly awful. the most notable element of the film, though, is undoubtedly the set pieces and the cinemascope photography thereof. other than this eye candy and the occasional laugh, the film doesn’t have a whole lot to offer me. there are certainly musical/theater lovers out there who would disagree.
