Revieweven better this time than the last time. the writing, performances and directing are all top notch. the core of the philosophy is finding your own way in a sea of consumerism and that probably won’t ever get old. the cultish fervor of the followers had been a downside in the past, but i think that the film ultimately indicts that part of the narrator’s persona; after all, that’s what the death of tyler durden is all about. i also think that this is one of the most misunderstood films of the last ten years in that people take it as a glorification of fighting and brutality and mischief. in fact, i think the film acknowledges the existence of the id and allows us to see the good and bad of it. we also can’t take things overly literally with this film, the whole idea of a split personality manifesting itself to this degree is a bit absurd so we should view it as a parable in some ways. great film, great comic relief, great soundtrack.
