Reviewpretty typical tennessee williams southern melodrama. personally, i think this one is better than streetcar named desire, but i guess i’m in the minority. i’m also in the minority in thinking that paul newman was a better actor than marlon brando. this is like a sirk film without any of the easing into the steaming hot bathtub, rather williams jumps right into the sordid affairs of this fucked up family. good ending, most of the rest was just decent. ives and newman were good.
