visually impressive, but not the same level of musicality as the classics (beauty and the beast, snow white, etc.). directed by the same guy who did cinderella. features a lot of the usual elements seen in fairy tales and disney pictures – liberation of a kiss, a princess who loves to sing and has animal friends (especially birds), an evil female figure, etc. i’m sure scores of books have been written on the subject.
