even better the second time around. the first time i watched it i spent a lot of the time trying to convince myself that i wasn’t a total loser for going to the theater to see rocky, in his 50s, take on the latest challenger. in the end i ended up liking it. this time around i liked it even more. it’s very much about the old school vs. new school, about self-determination, rugged individualism, etc. rocky’s speech to his son was very powerful both times i watched it. his time reminiscing was more appreciated this time since i had recently seen rocky and rocky II. a solid film.
