Reviewgreat film. another good one from 1967 and another film with paul newman that starts with “h” – hud, hombre, hustler. paul newman plays a white man by birth, but a red man by upbringing and he does a better job than the great dustin hoffman did in his portrayal as an indian in little big man.
it reminded me of stagecoach or the searchers, only it was better than both of those, at least upon first viewing. the characters are well drawn, newman’s performance is solid, and the writing is witty and dry. recommended.
