Citizen Kane

Director: Welles
Reviewprobably the most important film of all-time, especially for those among us who are enamored with film noir. i’ve seen it a half dozen times or so and it takes about that many times before you start to really see the film for what it is. the first time is inevitably disappointing because of the status that the film has, the second time begins the warming up, the third time brings intellectual understanding and from there you are able to view the film as a film like any other, only better. in this viewing the humanism of the story and kane’s character shone through like it hadn’t on previous viewings. camerawork and acting and writing came together as one to tell a great story about a great and ordinary man.
