much of this well-photographed film was shot in CA, and that’s about the most exciting thing about it. it’s certainly not the most boring film i’ve ever seen, but it has a slow pace and the characters weren’t developed and dynamic enough to buttress the film’s slow pace. the art direction and cinematography are standouts, but the rest of the film is fairly commonplace. hero is a more exciting and beautiful film, but it won’t appeal as much to the ladies.
