dated, but fairly well-done picture about a teenager trying to make his mark on the world. it seems like there were a lot of films like this during the 80s. at any rate, matthew modine is a standout and linda fiorentino shows us a bit of what we will see more fully realized in films like last seduction and dogma. the music was funny because that’s just the nature of the 80s, and tangerine dream. unfortunately i saw a boom mic at a couple different points in the film, that’s always a detractor.
