french mystery by clouzot (the french hitchcock). it’s a fairly fun little mystery with some fringe benefits, but it’s not as good as his two masterpieces: wages of fear and diabolique. the inspector character is probably the highlight. he reminds me a bit of the inspector in hitchcock’s “dial m for murder.” he’s very dry and columbo-esque in his technique.
