Reviewone of the better hitchcock films, in my opinion. i really like this and the other two that make up what i call the claustrophobia trilogy – rope and dial m for murder. i just love the closed in feel and limited element of those pictures. in spite of this limitation hitchcock works with the camera quite well. the story is taut, the characters are well drawn and it’s reminiscent of 12 angry men. other than the slightly soft ending, this is a wonderful little film which generally gets lost among the birds, vertigo, north by northwest, etc.
