probably the best of the 70s revenge films that i’ve seen so far. it’s well shot and relatively well acted, but what really separates it from something like i spit on your grave or thriller is that the explicit nature of the film is in service of the film’s feel and themes, rather than as a simple, exploitative gimmick. the dvd cover quotes the all movie guide which calls it the most politically incorrect film ever seen in american theaters. it really didn’t strike that chord with me .
