Review

as a horror film the movie doesn’t do much, but as a tale laced with social commentary it does. it’s basically about how society deals with the homeless by ignoring them. it also becomes about another problem society has chosen to ignore – toxic waste. combining the two we get c.h.u.d. (cannibalistic humanoid underground dwellers). the effects weren’t very good, but it’s got a pretty good cast (one of john goodman’s first appearances) and the story is decent.
