hype williams is a talented visual artist and his direction is interesting to watch, however that alone doesn’t make for a good film. this film is equal parts “never die alone” and “menace II society.” all three employ voice-over narration and have a message of redemption and “going straight.” this one’s better than never die alone, but doesn’t touch the humanity and realism of menace II society. dmx shouldn’t be an actor, nas does a decent job and the females were generally bad.
