i can officially say that i don’t care for david mamet. spanish prisoner was pretty good, but all his other stuff sucks. i think he just tries too hard. in heist it came in the form of language that was way too flowery and stylized, in this film he tried too hard to be sentimental and clever. kilmer and macy were both mis-cast and mamet probably couldn’t direct his way out of a paper bag so that certainly didn’t help the performances any. david, please stop making movies…give your ideas to someone else and let them take it from there.
