every once in a while i’ll come across a film that i know is supposed to be moving, but just doesn’t affect me at all; this is one of those films. i know that if i really put my mind to it i could have been into this film and could have unraveled the film as an allegory for freedom and humanity, or whatever it is, but i just wasn’t into it. i fell asleep about half way through and then watched the rest of it later. i didn’t relate to any of the characters, the extremely dark cinematography grated on my nerves a bit, the production values were poor…sorry.
