Big Lebowski
Year: 1998
Grade: A-
Country: USA
Director: Coen
Reviewstylistically the film has shades of the farrelly brothers, the coen brothers, and david lynch. at least i got that impression here and there. but this film, unlike “blood simple” (the coens’ first picture), isn’t about style so much as it is about great writing. the characters in this film are great, round, and unique; the script is alive, bouncy, and completely on spot; and the acting is uniformly excellent. this and fargo are probably the most funny of the coen brothers’ work.
