okay i only watched the first hour, but i doubt that the last 2hrs 47minutes got any better.  it was really heavy handed, trite, and just poorly executed. the acting was poor and the score seemed to be a bunch of finale pieces strung together…every scene was acompanied by music that made it seem as though god himself was on screen explaining the meaning of life. that is, there was no sense of ebb and flow, everything was treated as being of the utmost importance and i’m sorry but mary beth sewing a confederate flag isn’t as important as stonewall jackson giving a rally speech which isn’t as important as billy bob’s flesh being torn by a ball of lead. i wouldn’t have lasted another three hours so i’m glad i walked out….oh and i was the third person to walk out of the theater which only had about 10 people to start. laughable.
