likely in my top ten films of all-time. if you’re under 25 make sure you watch this one before you get too old. that’s not to say it doesn’t speak to the older generation, but i think there’s even more to gain from the experience when you’re younger. some of the most lively and original cinematography you’ll ever see; a couple of the greatest performances of film history; an ending that lays shame to all others before it; and a soundtrack that ranks among the very best of all-time. this film defines the line between drama and comedy at any given moment it can tip over into comedy and have you laughing and before you know it can tip back the other way making you want to cry. this is what great cinema is about, this is why art fulfills my spiritual needs.
