finally got around to seeing this classic anime film and can’t say i was totally blown away by it. i think the biggest reason is that i just don’t dig on anime…the fantastic sci-fi elements just don’t appeal to me. i recognize that this is a good piece of artwork, but it doesn’t really float my boat. the score/soundtrack was good and the ending reminded me of “2001: a space odyssey.” other than that this won’t be all that memorable of a movie for me. it wasn’t corny, the artwork, for the time, was very good, the characters were fairly well-rounded and cosidering it’s 15 years old it’s surprsingly undated.
