Reviewdocumentary about two sides of a deaf family, both thinking about cochlear implants for one of their deaf children. it certainly opens up a new world to the viewer, which is what you hope a documentary film will do, but i didn’t connect with any of the people on an emotional level – which is what the good documentaries do. a lot of it was about how we define our identity and the pride we take in who we are….that’s probably why i didn’t really relate to many of the characters. identity and pride don’t really hold that much weight with me so their tough decisions just didn’t seem that tough to me. overall educational, but not entertaining.
