probably spike lee’s second best film…possibly his best. there’s a lot going on and he doesn’t make it easy for you to settle down and take sides…there are multiple dimensions to the characters within the film and that is appropriate considering the subject matter. the first half of the film sets up the last half for a slight disappointment (in my opinion), but that’s more because the first half was so good rather than the second half being bad. very good ensemble acting, great cinematography and style. a winner.
